Dysart Taylor shareholder/director Anne Baggott virtually hosted SHRM-KC’s Mid-Year Employment Law Update on Tuesday, April 14. The webinar presentation was packed with updates from the first half of 2020, including a COVID-19 update.

Focusing on recently enacted coronavirus-related laws, Baggott outlined employer impacts of the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP) of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act, the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act, and paid leave benefits pursuant to the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA).

In the session, Baggott also addressed shelter-at-home orders in Kansas and Missouri, unemployment updates and what employers might expect from an employment law perspective during the second half of the year.
