Dysart Taylor is pleased to announce director Anne Baggott recently presented on how employers can and should handle the COVID-19 vaccine in the workforce at a January 27 virtual event. Baggott co-presented with John Vering, shareholder at Seigfreid Bingham.

The event, Straight Talk on Vaccines for Employers and HR Professionals, was hosted by the Society for Human Resource Management of Greater Kansas City (SHRM-KC) and Civic Council of Greater Kansas City, the KC Chamber, Kansas City Area Development Council, KC Rising and the Mid-America Regional Council. Baggott currently serves on the SHRM-KC Board of Directors.

As Kansas City gets closer to widespread vaccine availability, businesses face unfamiliar and unprecedented questions and a multitude of issues to consider when implementing vaccine-related policies.

Baggott shared her expectations in regard to whether employers can require employees to get vaccinated; if vaccines are required, the options for administering and enforcing them; and managing accommodation requests and employee objections. She also walked through actual situations and hypothetical but likely issues during the virtual presentation.

An experienced employment lawyer, Baggott has a unique, blended practice representing both companies and individuals on all aspects of employment law. She advises and strategically guides businesses through the complex web of workplace laws, and helps employees with legal problems at work.
