Dysart Taylor is pleased to announce shareholder/director Anne Baggott was a two-time video presenter at USLAW NETWORK’s first-ever virtual retreat, where she spoke on the hottest topics in labor and employment law.

As part of its 2020 conference, USLAW launched the Home Field Advantage, a video project where USLAW members share insights and boots-on-the-ground knowledge on the latest legal happenings impacting labor and employment in each state and in select global markets. The video library is only available to those who register for the free, virtual event.

For Missouri and Kansas, Baggott presented on recent updates to both states’ labor and employment laws, including the new cap on punitive damages in civil cases in Missouri, and how recent Supreme Court and National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) decisions will impact local employers.

In addition to her Home Field Advantage video, Baggott also was featured in the virtual retreat’s Lightning Round: 5-Minute Drills. In her five-minute video, Kids at Work – What is an Employer to do with the Realities of Intermittent Openings and Closings of Childcare Facilities and Schools, Baggott outlined the implications for employers when parents must be at home due to school closings, including the definition of a “school closing” and which employees are eligible for paid leave under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA).

The 10-day conference ran from Sept. 30-Oct. 9 and was designed for legal decision-makers. The retreat covers everything from upcoming legislation and emerging technologies to how COVID-19 has impacted the claims environment and how recent decisions are impacting overall policies and operations.

USLAW NETWORK is an international, invite-only organization of nearly 100 independent, defense-based law firms with more than 6,000 attorneys covering the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa. Dysart Taylor is the only firm in Kansas City that is a member of USLAW.
