Why did you want to become an attorney? What made you decide on this field?
“I majored in political science in college. In addition, I wanted to go into a field where I could help people. Law school seemed like a good fit.”

What is your most significant memory or case in your career?
“Out of law school, I worked as a prosecutor. My second jury trial was a second-degree murder case. There were a number of difficult factual and legal issues involved. Fortunately, the jury returned a guilty verdict.”

You’ve been with the firm since 2000, what’s the biggest change you’ve witnessed?
“Without a doubt it’s the technology, which has permeated every aspect of the practice. This trend has accelerated with COVID-19 and the associated shutdowns.”

What Kansas City experience would you recommend to everyone?
“You can’t beat Kansas City live music, barbeque and beer.”

How do you like to spend your time outside of work?
“Hiking, biking and kayaking with my family.”
