Dysart Taylor president John F. Wilcox, Jr. recently attended the Transportation Lawyers Association’s Regional Seminar and Boot Camp in Chicago, serving as a co-chair of the Boot Camp portion of the event.
The Chicago Boot Camp is an intense “short course” taught by highly credentialed legal talent from across North America. The course focused on freight brokerage, with each panel providing industry and legal perspectives on specific issues covered. Wilcox served as a moderator on three panel discussions: ‘Cargo Claims,’ ‘Casualty Claims’ and ‘Brokerage Standards and Procedures in Canada and Mexico and Their Relationship Between Brokers, Shippers and Motor Carriers in Those Jurisdictions.’
The Transportation Lawyers Association (TLA) is an independent bar association, comprising in-house, government and private practice attorneys, with members assisting providers and commercial users of domestic and international logistics and transportation services. TLA is dedicated to keeping its members ahead of the ever-changing legal environment governing all aspects of supply chain and passenger travel.
Wilcox is a past president of TLA, serving in the role from 2020-2021. In his practice, Wilcox helps his clients in the areas of transportation and logistics, products liability, premise liability, and insurance defense.
