Dysart Taylor is pleased to announce director John F. Wilcox, Jr. was a recent guest on the Dave Nemo Show, a Sirius XM radio show, on June 2 where he discussed the Transportation Lawyers Association (TLA), its upcoming conference and the industry’s hottest trends.

Wilcox, who was joined by fellow TLA member Bridgette Blitch, outlined why trucking companies are attractive targets for plaintiffs’ lawyers and how the public’s perception of the industry has improved due to positive press during COVID-19.

In addition, he discussed best practices for driver depositions and jury selection, as well as explaining the Reptile Theory and how it fits into court cases. The Reptile Theory is a litigation tactic focused on presenting safety and security issues to subtly encourage jurors to envision themselves in the same situation as a plaintiff.

Wilcox is an experienced litigator who has tried hundreds of cases to verdict. Since joining Dysart Taylor in 2000, he has helped clients in the areas of transportation and logistics, products liability, construction and insurance defense. In his transportation practice, John represents clients in the trucking industry, advising and defending motor carriers, drivers, 3PLs, shippers, manufacturers and governmental entities in wrongful death, serious personal injury and property claims.
