Bio
Erica Garrett first joined Dysart Taylor as a law clerk in 2025, honing her skills in legal research and drafting documents such as legal memoranda, motions and discovery documents. Her work primarily focused on civil litigation, particularly insurance defense matters.
Prior to joining the firm, Erica worked as a paralegal in the Litigation Division of the Missouri Attorney General’s Office, where she helped prepare cases for trial through assisting with witness interviews, providing input on opening and closing arguments, locating and preparing exhibits and attending trials. She also previously held an internship at a rural Missouri law firm and served as a law clerk for an insurance company. Through these experiences, Erica gained strong experience and a deep understanding of the legal process, giving her the knowledge she needs to be an advocate for her clients and achieve their strategic goals.
Erica completed her B.S. in Linguistics with minors in English and Justice Systems at Truman State University. She later earned a Paralegal Certification from the University of Central Missouri before earning her law degree at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law.
