Dysart Taylor is pleased to announce director Anne E. Baggott recently facilitated a group discussion on how lawyers with emotional intelligence skills produce a more functional and productive law practice at the annual Fall USLAW NETWORK Client Conference on September 25.

During her presentation, Emotional Intelligence: How It Impacts Communications, Risk Assessment, Teamwork, Innovation and Trust in the Legal Arena, Baggott outlined the benefits of an emotionally intelligent firm and team, such as becoming better negotiators and litigators, building more effective leadership and teamwork, improving relationships with colleagues and clients, increasing productivity and retaining valued employees.

She also discussed steps to achieve emotional intelligence in the workplace. Baggott was joined by Colleen Hastie, partner at Traub Lieberman in New York, for the discussion.

The 2021 USLAW client conference, which took place at the Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colorado, was the first client conference since 2019. Programming followed six different themes, including litigation and corporate trends post-COVID-19; diversity, equity and inclusion; leadership, management and succession; technology and innovation; and health and wellness. The conference also had strict COVID-related protocols, including requiring each attendee to take a COVID-19 test upon arrival.

Dysart Taylor is proud to be the only firm in Kansas City that is a member of the USLAW NETWORK, an international organization of nearly 100 independent, defense-based law firms with more than 6,000 attorneys covering the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, Asia and Africa.

Baggott is an experienced employment lawyer with a unique, blended practice representing both companies and individuals on all aspects of employment law. She advises and strategically guides businesses through the complex web of workplace laws.
