Dysart Taylor shareholder/director Leslie Boe recently presented at the American Society of Professional Estimators’ (ASPE) 20th Annual KC Construction Estimating Academy. The Academy is a premier event designed to bring together construction estimators, project managers and industry professionals for a day of learning, networking and professional growth.
Boe’s presentation, Protect Your Company and Get Paid: Construction Law Estimators Need to Know, highlighted relevant and trending legal issues that construction estimating professionals need to know to better understand how to ensure they get paid. Some of the topics covered during the presentation including contract formation and provisions to include, payment terms, dealing with change orders and retainage.
The ASPE is an organization that aims to promote development and application of education, professional judgment and skills within the industry it serves. The organization strives for estimators to come together to perform under the highest principles of ethical conduct for the protection of the public, clients, employers and others in this industry.
Focusing on construction law, Boe advises a wide variety of clients in the industry, including owners, design professionals, general contractors, subcontractors and material suppliers.
