Dysart Taylor shareholder/director Meghan Litecky recently helped lead a panel discussion as part of the Future USLAW Leaders’ Litigation Academy, which took place during the two-day Spring 2024 USLAW Client Conference in Phoenix, Arizona.

The session, entitled “What Can Outside Counsel Learn from the Insider Perspective?,” provided insight into how to ensure a legal expert on your case has the right expertise, credibility and communication skills that align with specific legal strategies. The panel allowed attorneys and in-house counsel to share insights and best practices for outside counsel as well as recommendations on how they can ensure success in involving an expert. Some of the topics covered included what stage to engage an expert, how to evaluate expertise and credibility, how jurors will perceive experts, and the latest litigation tactics to downplay expert witnesses.

Fellow facilitators Adam R. Forest of S-E-A, Ltd., Kevin McCarthy of Larson • King, LLP, Eddy Silverman of Williams Kastner and Marion Stampley, Jr. of IMS Legal Strategies, joined Litecky on the panel.
