Dysart Taylor is pleased to announce shareholder/director Michael J. Judy has authored the Kansas chapter of the Force Majeure Law Compendium (During COVID-19 Pandemic) published by USLAW NETWORK.

The compendium is a multistate resource that addresses relevant considerations with respect to invoking “force majeure” clauses in contracts in light of the ongoing COVID-19 crisis. Because invoking force majeure clauses is likely the largest long-term issue arising from COVID-19, the compendium provides additional guidance, including issues such as the requirement to obtain relief using force majeure and the possible scope of that relief.

Judy was one of 45 USLAW member attorneys to draft a chapter; the compendium takes advantage of local knowledge and experience in each of USLAW’s jurisdictions.

In his practice, Judy defends trucking companies and their drivers against personal injury and wrongful death lawsuits, advises transportation industry clients on key aspects of their business and guides clients to favorable results in defending claims against large and small entities at the local, regional and national level in the retail and hospitality industry.

USLAW NETWORK released updated state-by-state compendiums of law for workers’ compensation as well as force majeure. USLAW regularly produces new and updates existing compendiums, providing a multistate resource that permits users to easily access state common and statutory law. Compendiums are easily sourced on a state-by-state basis and are developed by the member firms of USLAW.
