Jonathan E. Gilmore - Of Counsel
Jonathan’s practice focuses on estate planning and administration, business formation and operation, mergers and acquisitions, commercial real estate, tax planning, and tax controversy.
His services include assisting clients in the formation, acquisition, and sale of corporate entities; planning, drafting, and executing estate planning documents; providing tax and legal advice to individuals and corporate clients; and negotiating terms and preparing agreements related to the sale of commercial and residential real estate.
He previously served in the U.S. Army as a legal specialist in the J.A.G. (Judge Advocate General) Corps where he provided legal support to Army attorneys in the areas of estate planning, claims processing and litigation support.
Jonathan is licensed to practice in Kansas, Missouri, and the U.S.Tax Court.
- Served as a corporate law and estate advisor on a legal defense team that was successful in settling a civil litigation suit that saved a client over one-hundred million dollars.
- Planned, negotiated, and drafted commercial real estate deals on both sides of the state line, most of which involved properties with fair market values in excess of $1 million.
- Reduced a client’s tax liability from $900,000.00 to $65,000.00 in a tax collection case, and negated a civil fraud claim made by the IRS.
