Bio

Early on in her career, Lauren Beck realized her desire to practice employment law and her passion to represent and advise her clients in all stages of labor and employment law litigation and arbitration. Her practice focuses on several areas of employment law including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination in the workplace.

Lauren graduated in the top third of her class from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law. During law school she served as an intern to the honorable Chief Judge Beth Phillips in the United States and competed on the UMKC’s Mock Trial Team. With the mock trial team, Lauren traveled to several competitions including the National Criminal Justice Trial Competition, Missouri Attorney General’s Cup and Battle of the Experts.

Lauren is licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas.

Experience

• Successfully lead settlement negotiations prior to trial, including EEOC, court-appointed, and private mediations.
• Draft and negotiate complex settlement agreements and releases.
• Propose and respond to written discovery.
• Take and defend depositions of plaintiffs, corporate representatives, and third-party witnesses.
• Conducted legal research and drafted memoranda based on recent labor and employment law.
• Second chaired bench and jury trials.
