Montana V. Koenig -


Montana is licensed to practice in Missouri and Kansas.

Montana’s practice focuses on civil litigation. Her experience clerking for judges and other litigation firms has illuminated what it takes to be a successful trial lawyer. Along with highly developed analytical and research abilities, the first-hand experience gained while working with some of the best lawyers in Kansas City makes Montana uniquely qualified to assist clients involved in the trial process. 

  • Served as the Division 6 Law Clerk to the Honorable J. Dale Youngs of the 16th Circuit Court of Jackson County, Missouri
    • Managed civil and criminal dockets; assisted in trials, conferences and hearings
    • Conducted extensive legal research and drafted orders to dispose of pending motions
    • Acted as the primary contact for communications between attorneys and the court
  • Interned for the Honorable Beth Phillips and the Honorable Brian Wimes of the United States District Court for the Western District of Missouri
    • Conducted legal research and drafted orders for the resolution of pending motions
    • Construed pro se pleadings to state viable causes of action and address jurisdiction
    • Prepared judgments affirming or reversing Social Security administrative decisions
  • Served as a Research Assistant to her Constitutional Law Professor and clerked at several law firms practicing in personal injury, transactional, criminal defense, environmental, and civil rights law while pursuing her law degree
    • Researched and drafted memoranda daily
    • Drafted and responded to motions, petitions, briefs, discovery, and client correspondence
    • Researched and assisted with depositions, client meetings, and personal injury trials
    • Substantively edited memoranda and citations for proper form compliance for attorneys and peers
