Brumitt Selected to 2012 Missouri Pro Bono Wall of Fame

Lee Brumitt was recently selected as a member of the 2012 Missouri Pro Bono Wall of Fame. This distinct honor is reserved for lawyers who have achieved a high level of pro bono service within a single year. Lawyers must complete and report 40 or more hours of pro bono service for the year in order to be eligible for the honor.

The Missouri Bar believes that, “lawyers who have made pro bono service central to their practice can change the lives of clients who, without the benefit of pro bono legal counsel, might be left desperate and often with few, if any, options. And every time you help someone who cannot afford a lawyer to access the justice system, you are making a direct and significant contribution to the rule of law.”

In 2011, The Missouri Bar created the Pro Bono Wall of Fame to recognize lawyers who show an exceptional commitment to the historic principle of pro bono service. Dysart Taylor attorney John Wilcox was selected as one of the inaugural members for the 2011 Missouri Pro Bono Wall of Fame. A list of available pro bono opportunities is available on The Missouri Bar Pro Bono website.

Brumitt was also awarded the Robert C. Welch Volunteer Attorney Award by Legal Aid of Western Missouri in 2006, recognizing his efforts on behalf of a client requiring pro bono legal assistance through Legal Aid.
